Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PaperTape handles information when you use RUVODEK, activate a Trial or Paid license, make a purchase, or contact support.
1. Who we are
RUVODEK is provided by PaperTape, Republic of Korea. PaperTape is responsible for personal information it processes directly in connection with RUVODEK licensing and support.
Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the RUVODEK Contact page.
2. No RUVODEK account required
You do not need to create a RUVODEK user account to use the Trial or a Paid license.
3. Information used for Trial and license activation
To provide Trial and Paid activation, device limits, offline entitlement, and deactivation, RUVODEK may process:
- a pseudonymous device identifier used to distinguish activated PCs;
- license or entitlement status and related identifiers;
- activation and deactivation records;
- Trial start and expiration information;
- RUVODEK version and technical information required to complete an activation request.
PaperTape’s licensing service does not store your raw Windows hardware identifiers, Windows username, computer hostname, or plaintext license key as part of the normal server-side license record.
4. Your audio stays on your computer
RUVODEK does not upload your music files, file contents, or monitored audio to PaperTape’s licensing service. File playback, metering, and Loopback audio processing are performed locally on your computer.
5. How we use information
PaperTape uses information only as reasonably necessary to:
- activate and validate Trial or Paid licenses;
- manage licensed-device limits and deactivations;
- provide offline entitlement after successful activation;
- support purchases and license administration;
- respond to support and privacy requests;
- protect RUVODEK and its licensing systems from abuse, fraud, or unauthorized use;
- maintain reliability, security, accounting records, and legal compliance.
6. Legal bases where applicable
Depending on the law that applies to you, PaperTape may process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract or take steps you request, to comply with legal obligations, for legitimate interests such as licensing security and fraud prevention, or with your consent where consent is required.
7. Purchases and payment information
RUVODEK purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, PaperTape’s merchant-of-record provider. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment processing, applicable taxes, receipts, and related transaction services under its own terms and privacy policy.
PaperTape does not directly store your full payment-card details. PaperTape may receive limited purchase and license information needed to issue, administer, or support your RUVODEK license, such as transaction or order references, product information, license status, and refund status.
8. Support and contact information
If you contact PaperTape, we may process the information you choose to provide, including your email address, message content, screenshots, RUVODEK version, Windows version, audio-device information, and other diagnostic details you send to us.
Please do not send passwords, full payment details, or other private credentials by email.
9. Service providers
PaperTape uses service providers to operate RUVODEK and its related services, including:
- Lemon Squeezy — merchant-of-record, checkout, payment, tax, refund, and purchase-related services;
- Microsoft Azure — hosting and infrastructure for RUVODEK activation and licensing services;
- Microsoft 365 — business email and support communications.
These providers handle information under their own contractual, security, and privacy obligations.
10. Data location
PaperTape’s current RUVODEK activation and licensing backend is hosted in Microsoft Azure Korea Central.
PaperTape’s current Microsoft 365 Exchange Online data location is Korea. Microsoft 365 is used for PaperTape business email and support communications.
Global service providers may perform limited support, security, or operational processing from other locations under their applicable contracts and privacy commitments.
11. International processing — Lemon Squeezy
RUVODEK purchases are processed by Sold through Link, LLC f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC (“Lemon Squeezy”), PaperTape’s merchant-of-record provider.
Lemon Squeezy states that personal information may be stored or processed in the United States and in other countries where it or its partners, affiliates, or service providers maintain facilities.

Primary country of processing: United States; additional processing may occur in countries where Lemon Squeezy or its service providers maintain facilities.
Information involved: purchase and transaction information such as name, email address, billing and payment-related information handled by Lemon Squeezy, order or transaction references, product and license information, purchase status, and refund status as required for the transaction and license administration.
Timing and method: electronically at checkout and when purchase, payment, tax, license, fraud-prevention, support, or refund administration requires communication with Lemon Squeezy, using secure network connections and service APIs.
Purpose: checkout, payment processing, tax handling, receipts, merchant-of-record obligations, order and license administration, fraud prevention, refunds, and transaction support.
Retention: for the periods reasonably necessary for Lemon Squeezy to provide these services and comply with its legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and contractual obligations, as described in its applicable privacy policy and terms.
How to refuse and the effect: you may choose not to provide purchase information to Lemon Squeezy by not completing the paid checkout. If you refuse the processing required for checkout, PaperTape cannot complete the standard online purchase or issue a Paid license through that purchase flow. This does not prevent you from using the RUVODEK Trial subject to its separate activation requirements.
12. Data sharing and sale
PaperTape does not sell your personal information to advertisers.
Information may be disclosed to service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate RUVODEK, process transactions, provide support, protect the service, or comply with applicable law.
13. Data retention
PaperTape retains licensing and activation records for as long as reasonably necessary to administer valid Trial or Paid entitlements, device limits, deactivations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.
Purchase-support and support information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for customer support, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods where required by law.
14. Deletion and disposal
When personal information is no longer required and no legal or operational retention requirement applies, PaperTape will delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it using reasonable methods appropriate to the type of record.
Electronic records are deleted or rendered inaccessible using appropriate technical procedures. Any physical records, if used, are securely destroyed.
15. Security
PaperTape uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by RUVODEK and its licensing services against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No system can guarantee absolute security.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information associated with you, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or other actions provided by applicable law.
To make a privacy request, contact PaperTape through the RUVODEK Contact page. We may need to verify enough information to identify the relevant records before completing a request.
Where applicable, you may also have the right to raise a complaint with the privacy or data-protection authority responsible for your jurisdiction.
17. Children
RUVODEK is not designed as a service directed to children, and PaperTape does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through RUVODEK.
18. Changes to this Policy
PaperTape may update this Privacy Policy when RUVODEK, its licensing system, legal requirements, or service providers change. The current version will be published on the RUVODEK website with its updated date.
