AUDIO
Playback
Install RUVODEK, play a favorite audio file, and start listening. In most cases, there is nothing to set up first.
Just play.
After installing RUVODEK, launch it and play one of your favorite audio files. RUVODEK uses the audio device Windows is already using, so in most cases there is nothing to set up first.
Open a file, press PLAY, and start listening.
Want to monitor YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, or another streaming service?
Press LOOPBACK, start playing, and RUVODEK will monitor the audio automatically.
Press STOP or PLAY to leave Loopback and return to your loaded file. Then press PLAY to continue listening.
For a little more detail, see the Loopback guide.
Audio Setting — only when you need it
Most of the time, you can leave these settings as they are.
MATCH RATE — ON by default
RUVODEK can automatically match the output sample rate to the file you are playing. When Windows Exclusive Mode is in use, the file can be played at its native sample rate without sample-rate conversion.
For most users, leave MATCH RATE on. It is useful when you want to hear the file at its original sample rate rather than through resampling.
FIXED 0 dB
Using an external audio interface, DAC, amplifier, or other hardware with its own volume control? Turn on FIXED 0 dB when you want the external hardware to control your listening volume instead of RUVODEK.
MUTE
Silences the output immediately when you need it.
-20 DIM
Temporarily lowers the current output level by 20 dB without changing your normal volume setting.
Need something else?
If a specific device, driver, or playback situation does not behave as expected, contact PaperTape and include your RUVODEK version, Windows version, and audio device name.
