GET STARTED
Quick Start
Install RUVODEK, open it, and start listening in a few simple steps.
1. Install RUVODEK
- Run the RUVODEK Windows installer.
- Launch RUVODEK after installation.
2. Play a file
- Select OPEN and choose an audio file — or simply drag & drop a file or folder into RUVODEK.
- Press PLAY, or use the Spacebar to play and pause.
- Use the transport controls as needed. Scroll the mouse wheel over VOL for quick volume adjustment.
That’s enough to start listening.
3. Choose your view
DEFAULT VIEW keeps the essentials together for everyday listening.
Switch to PRO VIEW when you want a closer look at Peak, RMS, LUFS, and the digital spectrum.
Use VIEW to move between them — it is still the same player, just with more detail.
4. Set your VU reference
RUVODEK starts at 0 VU = -9 dBFS, a practical default for much of today’s louder mastered music.
Not sure? Leave it at -9 dBFS and just listen.
Change VU CAL only when you want a different needle range for the music you are listening to.
5. Monitor apps with Loopback
Want to monitor YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, or another streaming service?
- Turn on LOOPBACK in RUVODEK.
- Start YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, or another streaming service.
- That’s it — RUVODEK will immediately begin monitoring the audio through Loopback.
Press PLAY or STOP to leave Loopback and return to file playback. You can also turn LOOPBACK off directly.
For more detail, see the Loopback guide.
6. Use Mini Desk
Sometimes, two meters are enough.
Switch to MINI DESK for a compact, distraction-free view of RUVODEK’s VU meters — ideal when you want the music in front and the meters quietly nearby.
